Did I say it *starts* at noon? About that ….

It takes dedication, endurance, and some serious work to be on a triathalon team. Swim, bike, run! Did I just say, “swim, bike, run”? No no no. What I meant to say was caffinate, drive, cheer!
Team Oreo – and by that I mean Team Fried Oreo – CONGRATULATIONS! You did it! You survived your first full triathalon! Transitions from slumber to bathroom to road were excellent. But we seriously have to work on our equipment. Next time team members – pack breakfast, a cooler, folding chairs and a change of clothes. Hell … a few more of these and I think we deserve an official tour bus. You know what that means? We will have our very own private bathroom … no port-o-scary-potty for us!
All kidding aside, let’s hear it for Patrick! WOO HOO!!!!! Top 17%! There are very few reasons – very very very very few reasons we will ever get up so early – but for you my friend … it was worth it! How many triathaletes come equipped with their own personal chef (who makes a damn mean meat sauce), motivational speaker, paparazzi & journalist?!
Supperclub Island

The Exclusive Eight
Ok, I know it’s a conspiracy. We’ve been out to Long Island for the past three weekends … and are going out next weekend again. We’re on to you and your plotting ways! Even the theme of this past supperclub … Supperclub ISLAND! Tricky subconscious plotting … schemers! Lucky for you, we love you all … maybe not enough to leave our land locked plot in NJ, but more than enough to come and visit … a LOT
Thanks to all the Hartens (you too Sugar!) we all had a very enjoyable evening, even when we were “breakin’ the law … breakin’ the law” (come on, you all know the words now!) walking on the Boardwalk with um, grown-up slushies and a four legged baby!
Let’s see if I can remember everything on the menu – it was a big one!
Watermelon Margaritas
Pina Coladas
Mini Cheeseburgers in Paradise
Mini California Burgers
Coconut Shrimp
Crab Dip
Jamaican Jerk Wings
Chicken Skewers
Broccoli Salad
Halibut with Creole Sauce
Coconut Rice Pudding
Coconut Lime Cake
Fruit Salad
Coffee with Godiva
Aloha Cookies
We’re going to have to get better at taking photographs of the delectable dishes before we dive in people!

Supper Club Anniversary!
September 9, 2006
Oh how much changes in a year! Back in September 2005, a supper club was born that has grown to some serious food & fun! A year ago, Lisa was pre-testing pasta recipes for her new teaching job at A La Carte so she would be prepped for her first day, Jay & I were introduced to a few of her close friends from the island, who we have bonded much more with over the past year, and the infamous Richie (guest #1!) popped in and out for a visit. Today, we’re celebrating our 1st anniversary of our supper club this evening at Patrick & Regina’s house, and for the first time in a while will have all official members in attendance!
What started out as a small gathering of friends for some great eats has now turned into an official club where if you want in … you have to pass the muster of Regina, the head of the club (aka club nazi) – and she is one TOUGH cookie! Good thing we are all on her good side
There’s been food themes: Italian (a club favorite), French, Down Home Southern, & Beach Food. And thanks to DJ Jay there’s also been music themes: The 80’s, the 70’s, Blues, & Reggee. Bridges and tunnels have been crossed both directions across the Hudson, and many many laughs and excellent times have been had.
So, with all that said … and the crazy planners of Lisa & I wanting to document our elite club of eight … I figured what better time than now to start a page where we can all put our thoughts, ideas, and notes on what worked or didn’t work, and keep tabs on the supper club guests – a VERY exclusive invitation I tell you – because many have wanted in … and been … denied.
