Congrats Patrick!!!!! Finishing in 3 1/2 hours WITH bronchitis. Now THAT is why you make Team Fried Oreo so proud!

I didn’t know supper club killed it’s own dinner.  Oh – that’s just Fred.  In the rotisserie.  Tasty, delicious, succulent Fred.

Another successful evening of fun with friends and food!  From tasty turkey string and crispy skin to a euphoric apple dessert inspiring ice cream theft … and a 80s trivia game that was never finished … ’twas an evening to remember!  Somehow there was even leftovers for everyone (except our gracious host!) so they could relive dinner again the next day for lunch.  Don’t worry Lisa – you shall be feasting on some delicious turkey soup (ala Fred) this coming weekend while we have our hands deep in chocolate dog production!

What did we learn from this evening’s event? 

*Rotisserie rocks so hard that it needs WD-40 to keep it’s arthritic gears from squeeking. 

*Blue is evil in Totally 80′s Trivial Pursuit.

*It’s LI vs. NJ in the F.L.A.M. competition!  (Can you figure out the acronym?)

*The ante is now up – the host even had theme-appropriate handtowels in the bathroom!

I know we all have the CD from Supper Club I for theme music, so Jay can take a little break from downloading madness.

We just purchased the Totally 80s Trivial Pursuit and I’m dying to play.

We have Pac-Man for pre-dinner entertainment.

I’ve been researching foods that were popular in the 80s … Chester Cheetah was invented in 1986!  Come on people – CHEETOS!!!!!!

You all know you have latent desires to wear leg warmers and tight jeans with holes in them

Team Oreo – and by that I mean Team Fried Oreo – CONGRATULATIONS! You did it! You survived your first full triathalon! Transitions from slumber to bathroom to road were excellent. But we seriously have to work on our equipment. Next time team members – pack breakfast, a cooler, folding chairs and a change of clothes. Hell … a few more of these and I think we deserve an official tour bus. You know what that means? We will have our very own private bathroom … no port-o-scary-potty for us!

All kidding aside, let’s hear it for Patrick! WOO HOO!!!!! Top 17%! There are very few reasons – very very very very few reasons we will ever get up so early – but for you my friend … it was worth it!  How many triathaletes come equipped with their own personal chef (who makes a damn mean meat sauce), motivational speaker, paparazzi & journalist?!

The Exclusive Eight

Ok, I know it’s a conspiracy. We’ve been out to Long Island for the past three weekends … and are going out next weekend again. We’re on to you and your plotting ways! Even the theme of this past supperclub … Supperclub ISLAND! Tricky subconscious plotting … schemers! Lucky for you, we love you all … maybe not enough to leave our land locked plot in NJ, but more than enough to come and visit … a LOT

Thanks to all the Hartens (you too Sugar!) we all had a very enjoyable evening, even when we were “breakin’ the law … breakin’ the law” (come on, you all know the words now!) walking on the Boardwalk with um, grown-up slushies and a four legged baby!

What started out as a small gathering of friends for some great eats has now turned into an official club where if you want in … you have to pass the muster of Regina, the head of the club (aka club nazi) – and she is one TOUGH cookie! Good thing we are all on her good side There’s been food themes: Italian (a club favorite), French, Down Home Southern, & Beach Food. And thanks to DJ Jay there’s also been music themes: The 80’s, the 70’s, Blues, & Reggee. Bridges and tunnels have been crossed both directions across the Hudson, and many many laughs and excellent times have been had.

So, with all that said … and the crazy planners of Lisa & I wanting to document our elite  club of eight … I figured what better time than now to start a page where we can all put our thoughts, ideas, and notes on what worked or didn’t work, and keep tabs on the supper club guests – a VERY exclusive invitation I tell you – because many have wanted in … and been … denied.
